How You Can HelpOur needs on the Gulf Coast are many and varied, and the level of the devastation continues to be tremendous. We are coordinating our efforts with Camp Coast Care. There are three basic ways you can help: (1) financial, (2) in-kind donations, and (3) volunteering your time. Volunteering Your Time
Many, many volunteers are needed on the coast to do the work of the LESM. Please plan a trip (or another trip) to the coast with member of your church, rotary club, garden club, etc. If you have not been thus far, there are lots of needs and lots of opportunities for productive participation at all levels of skill. The numbers of volunteers from around the country have dropped off and we still have SO much work to accomplish. Camp Coast Care (CCC), our volunteer housing facility in Long Beach is moving into a new building on the campus of Coast Episcopal School. The new facility will be fully air conditioned and will accommodate up to 100 volunteers a night. CCC, in addition to their administrative staff, now has a staff of 4 social work case managers serving Harrison and Hancock counties. Volunteer Opportunities at CCC:
To sign up for a time slot, contact mmagargel@campcoastcare.org or go to the Camp Coast Care web site and find the link for volunteer registration. If you know of people needing assistance with financial, medical, mental health, transportation etc. concerns, please call 601-260-6234 or go to CCC and look for the LESM/ERD trailer. |
